What is APOE4?
APOE4 is a common version of the APOE gene. Carrying one or two copies raises Alzheimer’s risk, but does not tell you whether you will develop it. These resources explain the genetics and help you explore practical next steps around blood tests, sleep, exercise and daily life.
What is The Phoenix Community?
An app and a private community for APOE4 carriers. Members get a personal protocol, blood work read against Phoenix’s APOE4-specific targets, a daily check-in, a monthly review, experiment tracking and a small group of other carriers. Kevin Tran, a Doctor of Pharmacy who carries two copies of APOE4, founded it in March 2025 after his own result.
Is anything here free?
Yes. The guides, articles, videos, trial search and clinician directory are free. Some downloads and research resources ask for an email address. The memory test is free for eligible study participants. Phoenix membership is paid.
How do I join Phoenix?
Apply to join Phoenix and share what brought you here and what you want help with. You can also view membership plans before completing the application.
Is there a Phoenix app for iPhone and Android?
Yes, on both the App Store and Google Play, and the same account works in any browser at app.thephoenix.community. The app is for members.
Do I need a genetic test before joining?
No. Many members arrive already knowing their status from a consumer test, a study or a clinician. If you do not know it yet, Phoenix lists sequencing options, and the Genetic Testing and Family Guide explains what each kind of test does and does not tell you.
Does Phoenix give medical advice?
No. Phoenix is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it does not check interactions with anything you already take. Talk to a qualified clinician before changing supplements, medication or protocols. Phoenix publishes a directory of APOE4-literate doctors and a brief you can hand to your own.
